AL Divisional Series
Divisional Series: The White Sox lead the series 1-0 after stealing Game 1 in Cleveland, 3-0. Chicago’s pitching staff allowed just three hits, and Munetaka Murakami hit a 2-run blast in the fourth inning. Game 2 is set for Monday.
What To Know: The White Sox swept the Astros in the wild-card round, winning both of those games on the road. The last time Chicago won a playoff series — back in 2005 — it went on to win the World Series.
FULL PRIMER

The upset-minded White Sox continued their momentum with a Game 1 win.
Divisional Series: Game 1 of this series was a pitching duel for the ages. The Yankees managed one hit, and the Rays managed five hits and one run, which was enough to give Tampa Bay the win. Drew Rasmussen struck out 10 in eight innings of one-hit baseball.
What To Know: The Rays went 5-2 against the Yankees at home during the regular season. Will home-field advantage play a part here? It’s possible. Consider this: Tampa Bay was tied with Milwaukee for the best home record in baseball during the regular season, while the Yankees had the third-best road record in baseball, behind Milwaukee and the Dodgers. Buckle up.

NL Divisional Series
Divisional Series: Milwaukee is out to a 1-0 lead after an intense Game 1. A Wilson Contreras solo home run in the bottom of the seventh broke a 2-2 tie and gave the Brewers a 3-2 win. However, it was Jacob Misiorowski only lasting four innings that was the story of the night. He gave up four hits and two runs in that short outing.
What To Know: Last season, the Brewers beat the Cubs in the NLDS before getting swept by the Dodgers in the NLCS. Meanwhile, since 2020, the Padres have now made the playoffs five times. But like Milwaukee, San Diego has continued to fall short, as it has only made the championship series once, back in 2022.

The two hottest teams in baseball meet in an epic NLDS showdown.
Divisional Series: The Dodgers lead the series 1-0, after winning Game 1, 5-3. L.A. got a scare late, when the Braves scored two runs in the top of the ninth. Besides that, however, Tarik Skubal was lights out, giving up two hits and one run in six innings, striking out seven.
What To Know: L.A. has won the last two World Series and three of the last six. If it is able to win it all again this year, it will be the first three-peat since the Yankees won three in a row from 1998 to 2000.
