Saints Rookie WR Jordyn Tyson Expected To Miss 2 Months

New Orleans Saints rookie wide receiver Jordyn Tyson is expected to miss approximately two months after sustaining a hamstring injury last week, according to NFL Network.

The estimated recovery timeline means the first-round draft pick’s availability for the start of the regular season is in serious doubt as he begins his rehabilitation program.

The injury reportedly occurred during a joint practice against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week when Tyson caught a pass, slipped, and received contact from behind. Saints head coach Kellen Moore clarified that this hamstring injury is unrelated to the previous hamstring issues Tyson managed during his collegiate career.

Injury concerns previously followed Tyson during his college tenure at Colorado and Arizona State, where he missed 17 games. A severe multi-ligament knee tear ended his 2022 freshman season and restricted his 2023 appearances, while a collarbone fracture in 2024 and a hamstring strain in 2025 caused further missed time.

During his final collegiate season at Arizona State last year, Tyson earned first-team All-Big 12 and third-team Associated Press All-American honors after recording 61 receptions for 711 yards and eight touchdowns across nine total games.

With Tyson expected to remain sidelined through August and into September, Tyson could begin the season on short-term Injured Reserve, should the Saints choose to go that route.

The Saints open their season by facing the Detroit Lions on Sept. 13.

Best Prediction Markets in Texas (2026): Kalshi, Polymarket and Top

This page may contain affiliate links to legal sports betting partners. If you sign up or place a wager, FOX Sports may be compensated. Read more about Sports Betting on FOX Sports.

The best prediction markets in Texas give the country’s largest sports betting free state a federally regulated way to trade on games, elections and more. Kalshi, Polymarket, DraftKings Predictions and OG Predictive all operate under Commodity Futures Trading Commission oversight, which places them outside the strict gambling ban written into the Texas constitution.

Texas has never legalized retail or online sports betting, despite repeated legislative attempts, which makes it one of the largest untapped sports betting markets in the country. That gap is a major reason prediction markets have grown so quickly among Texas sports fans.

The legal picture is still developing. Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick has directed a state Senate committee to study what he calls a gambling loophole, with findings expected to inform possible action in 2027. For now, prediction markets remain fully operational across the state.

This guide ranks the top platforms available to Texas residents, breaks down current offers, and explains how prediction markets differ from a traditional sportsbook.

Texas Prediction Markets Overview

Legal Status Contested (available statewide pending legislative review)
Federal Regulator Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC)
Legal Online Sportsbook None. Texas has no licensed retail or online sportsbook
Platforms Available Kalshi, Polymarket, DraftKings Predictions, OG Predictive, Novig
Minimum Age 18 and older (platform dependent)
Contract Price Range $0.01 to $0.99 per share, settling at $1.00 or $0.00

Is Trading Prediction Markets Legal in Texas?

  • Legal Status: Contested, with trading currently available
  • Federal Regulation: Kalshi, Polymarket, DraftKings Predictions and OG Predictive all operate as CFTC-regulated exchanges or introducing brokers
  • State-Specific Dispute: Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick directed the Texas Senate State Affairs Committee to study how federal law is being used to work around the state’s gambling restrictions
  • Sports Contracts Status: Fully available; no lawsuit or enforcement action has been filed against the major platforms in Texas as of August 2026
  • Timeline: Committee findings are expected to inform potential legislative action in the 2027 session, meaning no near-term change is expected

Texas broadly prohibits gambling under its state constitution, but sports event contracts have continued operating because they fall under federal commodities law rather than state gaming law. Federal courts have already blocked several other states from enforcing similar restrictions against these platforms, which limits how far Texas could go even after the committee reports back.

For the full state-by-state legal breakdown, see the FOX Sports guide to where prediction markets are legal.

Recent Prediction Market Updates in Texas

  • March 2026: Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick directed the Senate State Affairs Committee to study prediction markets and possible ways to close what he calls a gambling loophole
  • Spring 2026: Kalshi and Polymarket removed ad copy in Texas that used direct gambling terminology after local reporting drew attention to it
  • 2026: Federal courts blocked several other states from enforcing similar gambling-law restrictions against Kalshi and Polymarket, a precedent likely to shape any Texas proposal
  • Committee findings are expected ahead of the 2027 legislative session, with no state action anticipated before then

Best Texas Prediction Market Platforms Ranked and Reviewed

Each platform below is federally regulated and currently accepting new Texas accounts. Offers and terms can change, so confirm current details before funding an account.

Kalshi

Kalshi is the top recommendation for most Texas traders, with the deepest liquidity of any US exchange and a market menu that covers everything from Cowboys game lines to the 2026 Texas governor’s race.

  • Best known for: The widest prediction market menu in the US, with the deepest sports, politics, economics, weather and pop culture coverage of any CFTC-regulated exchange.
  • Welcome offer: Trade 25 dollars, get up to 500 dollars in bonus trading credit with code FOXSPORTS.
  • Platform experience: Clean mobile app, simple KYC verification, and support for debit card, bank transfer, Apple Pay, wire transfer and USDC funding.
  • Final take: The default first stop for most traders, especially anyone who wants sports markets alongside politics and economic data in one place.

Kalshi operates as a Designated Contract Market under the CFTC and is currently available to eligible new users with the Kalshi promo code FOXSPORTS offer. Kalshi is also one of the only platforms with enough order flow to support Texas-specific political markets, including statewide primary and general election contracts.

Polymarket

Polymarket is the highest-volume prediction market available to Texas residents, processing billions of dollars in monthly trading across sports, politics and breaking news.

  • Best known for: The largest global trading volume of any prediction market, with the deepest liquidity for major sports, political and breaking news events.
  • Welcome offer: Deposit 10 dollars, get a 20 dollar trading bonus with code FOX.
  • Platform experience: iOS and Android app, USDC-based balances funded through Moonpay via card or bank transfer, and no trading fees on binary markets.
  • Final take: The strongest choice for traders who want the widest field of active markets and the tightest spreads on high-volume events.

New users can review current terms on the Polymarket promo code FOX page. Texas ranks among Polymarket’s most active states for college football markets given the size of the state’s Big 12 and SEC fan base.

DraftKings Predictions

DraftKings Predictions gives Texas users a familiar app experience, since it runs inside the same DraftKings Sports and Casino app used nationwide.

  • Best known for: Brand familiarity for sportsbook bettors, Combos that bundle multiple event contracts into one position, and a built-in responsible trading toolset.
  • Welcome offer: New DraftKings customers who trade 5 dollars or more get 150 dollars in Predictions Dollars, paid out as 50 dollars every 7 days over a 14 day window. No promo code is required.
  • Platform experience: Available inside the existing DraftKings Sports and Casino app on iOS and Android, running on DraftKings’ own DKeX exchange.
  • Final take: The most natural fit for anyone who already has a DraftKings account and wants event contracts without downloading a separate app.

Full offer terms and state availability are covered on the DraftKings Predictions promo code page. DraftKings has specifically called out Texas as one of its priority states for sports event contracts, since the state has no competing sportsbook product.

OG Predictive

OG Predictive rounds out the field with a newer platform backed by Crypto.com that gives Texas traders another venue for pricing comparisons.

  • Best known for: Backing from Crypto.com and infrastructure powered by Nadex, giving it one of the more established clearing setups among newer entrants.
  • Welcome offer: Trade 10 dollars, get a 10 dollar bonus.
  • Platform experience: Straightforward sign-up flow with a market menu that spans sports, crypto price events, and current-affairs contracts.
  • Final take: A solid secondary platform for traders who want pricing or market variety beyond Kalshi and Polymarket without a steep learning curve.

Current terms are available on the OG Predictive promo code page. OG Predictive remains fully available to Texas users, with no state-specific restrictions currently in place.

Novig

Novig operates its sports-only prediction exchange in Texas, giving traders a peer-to-peer alternative focused specifically on game outcomes, futures and player statistics.

  • Best known for: A sports-only exchange model, built specifically around peer-to-peer trading on game outcomes, futures and player statistics rather than a broad menu of political or cultural markets.
  • Platform experience: A simpler, sportsbook-style interface layered on top of exchange pricing, aimed at traders who want a familiar look and feel.
  • Final take: A strong sports-focused complement to Kalshi and Polymarket for traders who want exchange-style pricing without leaving a betting-slip style layout.

New users can start trading on Novig here. Texas bettors who miss the feel of a traditional betting slip may find Novig’s exchange-with-a-sportsbook-layout approach an easier entry point than Kalshi or Polymarket.

Other Prediction Market Platforms to Know

Kalshi, Polymarket, DraftKings Predictions, OG Predictive and Novig cover most of the trading volume, but the field keeps growing. FOX Sports does not currently have partner offers for the platforms below, so they are included here for context rather than as ranked recommendations.

  • Robinhood: Added event contracts inside its existing trading app, aimed at users who already hold stocks or crypto there.
  • FanDuel Predicts: FanDuel’s entry into event contracts, built for bettors who already use the FanDuel Sportsbook app.
  • Fanatics Markets: Fanatics’ prediction market product, following the same CFTC-regulated event contract model as its competitors.
  • Gemini Predictions: A crypto exchange-backed entrant with event contracts funded through Gemini’s existing wallet infrastructure.
  • Coinbase Predictions: Coinbase’s event contract product, aimed at its large existing crypto user base.
  • Underdog Predictions: A newer entrant from the daily fantasy operator Underdog, layering event contracts onto its existing platform.

How We Rank the Best Texas Prediction Market Platforms

  • Regulatory status: Confirmed CFTC designation as a Designated Contract Market or registered introducing broker
  • Market depth and liquidity: Breadth of sports, political, economic and cultural markets, and how tight the spreads are on high-volume events
  • Fees and pricing transparency: How trading costs are disclosed and whether they are built into the contract price or charged separately
  • Mobile app experience: Ease of account verification, funding, order placement and market research inside the app
  • Welcome offer value: Size and accessibility of the new-user offer relative to the minimum trade or deposit required
  • Customer support and funds security: Availability of support channels and how deposits and withdrawals are handled

Prediction Markets vs Sportsbooks in Texas

Texas is the largest US state with no legal sports betting in any form, retail or online, despite repeated legislative attempts to change that. For background on why that is and what has been proposed, see the FOX Sports Texas sports betting guide. That makes prediction markets the only regulated way for Texans to trade directly on the outcome of a game right now.

Feature Prediction Markets Sportsbooks
Legal in Texas Yes, under federal CFTC oversight. No licensed operator currently available
Who you trade against Other traders on the exchange The sportsbook itself
Pricing Set by supply and demand, $0 to $1 per contract Set by the operator using American odds
Market scope Sports, politics, economics, weather and culture Primarily sports

Texas Prediction Markets: Politics, Energy and College Football

Texas trading activity skews toward a few categories that reflect the state’s economy, politics and sports culture.

  • Political markets: Statewide races, including the 2026 governor and attorney general contests, are among the highest-volume non-sports markets available to Texas traders
  • Energy markets: Contracts tied to oil and natural gas prices draw consistent interest given the size of the state’s energy sector
  • College football markets: With the Longhorns, Aggies, and the broader SEC and Big 12 footprint in Texas, college football contracts are some of the most actively traded sports markets in the state
  • Economic markets: Inflation, interest rate and jobs report contracts see steady volume from Texas-based traders and finance professionals
  • Tax treatment: Texas has no state income tax, so trading profits avoid the added state-level tax bite that traders in income-tax states face. Federal tax rules still apply, and traders should keep their own records rather than rely on a platform’s tax summary alone
  • Pro sports markets: With no legal sportsbook in the state, Cowboys, Texans, Rockets, Mavericks, Spurs, Astros and Rangers markets on Kalshi, Polymarket and DraftKings Predictions are the closest legal equivalent to a game-outcome bet available to Texas residents

How to Start Trading Prediction Markets in Texas

  • 1. Download the app or visit the website for the platform you want to use, such as Kalshi, Polymarket, DraftKings Predictions or OG Predictive.
  • 2. Create an account and complete identity verification, which is required on every CFTC-regulated platform before you can fund an account.
  • 3. Deposit funds using an accepted method, such as a debit card, bank transfer or stablecoin deposit, depending on the platform.
  • 4. Browse available markets and review the contract price, which reflects the market’s estimated probability of that outcome.
  • 5. Place your first trade, and remember that most platforms let you sell your position before the event resolves if the price moves in your favor.
  • 6. Withdraw available funds back to your original payment method or a supported crypto wallet once you are ready to cash out.

Benefits of Using Multiple Prediction Market Platforms

Prices for the same event can differ slightly from one exchange to another, since each platform sets prices based on its own pool of traders. Using more than one account can help Texas traders find better pricing and access a wider set of markets overall.

  • Compare contract pricing across exchanges before committing to a position
  • Access category strengths unique to each platform, such as Kalshi’s political market depth or Polymarket’s breaking news coverage
  • Reduce the impact of a single platform pausing sports contracts if the state legislature acts on the committee’s findings
  • Collect welcome offers across multiple platforms rather than a single sign-up bonus

Responsible Trading

Trading event contracts involves real risk of loss and should always be approached as entertainment, not as an investment strategy. Never commit more than you can afford to lose, and review each market’s contract price and settlement rules before taking a position. Free, confidential support is available around the clock from these organizations.

Texas Prediction Markets FAQs

Are prediction markets legal in Texas?

Yes. Kalshi, Polymarket, DraftKings Predictions and OG Predictive all operate legally in Texas under federal CFTC oversight. A state Senate committee is studying the issue, but no lawsuit or enforcement action currently restricts trading.

Is Kalshi legal in Texas?

Yes. Kalshi is regulated by the CFTC and currently operates in Texas without restriction. The platform has not been named in any Texas lawsuit or enforcement action as of August 2026.

Is there a legal online sportsbook in Texas?

No. Texas has no licensed retail or online sportsbook. It is the largest US state by population with no legal sports betting in any form, which is a major reason prediction markets have grown so quickly among Texas sports fans.

Can I trade on Texas teams using prediction markets?

Yes. Kalshi, Polymarket and DraftKings Predictions all list contracts tied to Texas teams such as the Cowboys, Texans, Rockets, Mavericks and Astros, since these platforms operate under federal rather than state sports betting law.

Could Texas ban prediction markets?

It is possible but not imminent. Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick has directed a state Senate committee to study the issue, with findings expected to inform potential action in the 2027 legislative session. Federal courts have blocked similar state restrictions elsewhere, which would likely shape any Texas proposal.

What is the difference between prediction markets and sports betting?

Prediction markets let you trade contracts against other users at prices set by supply and demand, with no house setting the odds. Sportsbooks set their own odds and take the other side of your wager, building a margin into the line.

Which prediction market platform is best for Texas traders?

Kalshi and Polymarket lead in overall market depth and liquidity for Texas traders, including Texas-specific political markets. DraftKings Predictions is a strong fit for existing DraftKings customers, and OG Predictive is worth comparing for pricing on specific markets.

Do I need to be 21 to use prediction markets in Texas?

No. Most prediction market platforms, including Kalshi and Polymarket, set the minimum age at 18. This differs from traditional sportsbooks, which generally require users to be 21 or older.

EA FC 27 Ratings: Kylian Mbappé Shares Top Spot, Lionel

The first batch of EA FC 27 ratings were released on Monday and they were filled with surprises.

While Kylian Mbappé was expected to have the highest rating in the game as this year’s cover star, he’s not the only one with the rating. In fact, he shares it with two players.

Here are the highlights from EA FC 27’s Top 27:

Mbappé Not Alone At The Top

(Photo by Tom Weller/picture alliance via Getty Images)

–>

After trading goals in the Golden Boot race at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland will enter the season as the two highest-rated men’s players in EA FC 27 with 91 overall ratings. The only other player to earn that rating this year is two-time Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Putellas, who notably left FC Barcelona Femení for the London City Lionesses this past summer.

Messi Gets World Cup Boost

–>

Lionel Messi came just short of winning the World Cup, but his eight-goal and four-assist outing at the tournament raised his rating from 86 last year to 89 this year. The rating marks Messi’s highest rating in the game since 2023, when he won the Ballon d’Or for the eighth time.

Olise Makes The Leap

–>

Michael Olise’s ascension into superstardom continues with a sizable jump in his EA FC rating. Olise entered last season as one of 26 players with an 86 overall rating; this year, he enters the season as one of just 11 players with a 90 overall rating. Olise had seven assists at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which is the most assists by a player in a single edition of the tournament.

After winning back-to-back Champions League titles, Paris Saint-Germain rightfully has the most men’s players in the top 27 with seven. Ousmane Dembélé and Vitinha hold the highest ratings on the team at 90, followed by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (89), Nuno Mendes (89), Willian Pacho (89), Achraf Hakimi (88) and João Neves (88).

2026 NFL Offensive Rookie Of The Year Odds: Tyson Tumbles

When the initial NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds came out, wide receiver Jordyn Tyson had the fourth-best odds to win the award at +600, after the Saints selected him with the No. 8 overall pick in the NFL Draft.

However, after suffering a hamstring injury in a joint practice with the Jaguars, Tyson is set to miss about two months.

As a result of the injury, Tyson’s odds have tumbled.

Let’s check out the latest odds to win OROY at DraftKings Sportsbook as of Aug. 17.

This page may contain affiliate links to legal sports betting partners. If you sign up or place a wager, FOX Sports may be compensated. Read more about Sports Betting on FOX Sports.

National Football League2026 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Odds

Jeremiyah Love: +475 (bet $10 to win $57.50 total)
Fernando Mendoza: +550 (bet $10 to win $65 total)
Carnell Tate: +550 (bet $10 to win $65 total)
Makai Lemon: +1400 (bet $10 to win $150 total)
De’Zhaun Stribling: +1500 (bet $10 to win $160 total)
KC Concepción: +2000 (bet $10 to win $210 total)
Ja’Kobi Lane: +2200 (bet $10 to win $230 total)
Carson Beck: +2500 (bet $10 to win $260 total)
Denzel Boston: +2500 (bet $10 to win $260 total)
Jordyn Tyson: +3500 (bet $10 to win $360 total)

Here’s what to know about the oddsboard:

Tyson’s Tumble: The timetable for Tyson’s injury points to a return around the middle of October, meaning the rookie could be back against the Giants in Week 6. However, he is expected to begin the season on injured reserve and will likely miss the first portion of the year. While Tyson is not completely out of the running for the award, he will need a monster season once he returns to make up for the missed time. Over the last decade, the fewest games played by an OROY winner is 15, a mark shared by Justin Herbert in 2020 and C.J. Stroud in 2023.

Love Affair: Arizona has found its new soulmate in the backfield, as Love is favored to win the OROY. He had 1,372 rushing yards and 18 rushing scores for the Fighting Irish last season, after having 1,125 rushing yards and 17 rushing touchdowns the year prior. FOX Sports NFL analyst Rob Rang had this to say after the Cardinals made the pick: “Throw out the narrative about positional value. Love’s ability to immediately boost rookie coach Mike LaFleur’s offense justifies this selection. Frankly, GM Monti Ossenfort needed a slam dunk and Love should provide it. His creativity, elusiveness and breakaway speed have earned comparisons to NFL superstars like Saquon Barkley and Bijan Robinson from scouts traveling through South Bend for the past two years.” In his first preseason game against the Raiders, Love had 11 carries for 58 yards and three catches for 14 yards. However, he suffered a high ankle sprain that will most likely sideline him for the remainder of the preseason. Despite the injury, Love remains the favorite at +475 to win OROY.

What About Nando?: The first pick in this past NFL draft came as no surprise, with Mendoza landing in Las Vegas. He threw for 3,535 yards and 41 scores last season, winning both the Heisman and College Football Playoff title for Indiana. Said Rang, “An ideal fit for the Raiders, both from a physical and intangible perspective, Mendoza isn’t just the right pick, he’s the perfect one. His prototypical size, pre- and post-snap recognition and accuracy from both the pocket and on the move should make him a star in rookie coach Klint Kubiak’s offense. Even better, Mendoza has the composure on and off the field needed for a team based in a city with the many, varied distractions of Las Vegas.” Mendoza is expected to start the season as the backup quarterback to Kirk Cousins. In his first preseason game last week, Mendoza completed 10 of 16 passes for 97 yards and a touchdown.

Former Ravens Super Bowl Champion O

O.J. Brigance, who won a Super Bowl with the Baltimore Ravens before waging an unyielding battle against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, has died. He was 56.

The Ravens announced Brigance’s death on Monday.

“We are devastated by the awful news that we have lost O.J. Brigance,” Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti said in a statement. “O.J. was a beloved legend, mentor and man to everyone who was fortunate enough to know him. He was a vibrant person who became one of the first Ravens heroes with his passionate play, including the first tackle in the 2000 Super Bowl.”

Brigance was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, in 2007. Not long after that, he and his wife, Chanda, formed the Brigance Brigade Foundation, an organization whose mission is to “equip, encourage and empower” those afflicted with ALS.

Despite using a wheelchair and a communication device that translated his messages, Brigance served as senior adviser for player engagement with the Ravens, a job he started in 2004. In addition to assisting players in each phase of their career, Brigance proved a source of motivation within the organization.

“Every day I walk by, not just to tell him how much I love him, but to tell him that he is the one thing that lets me not complain about anything,” Ravens Hall of Fame linebacker Ray Lewis said in 2012, his final pro season. “I played with that guy. His spirit is just awesome.”

Brigance said his career as a professional football player — he played linebacker and on special teams — helped prepare him for the fight against ALS.

Orenthial James Brigance was born Sept. 29, 1969 and played in college at Rice in his hometown of Houston. He began his professional career in 1991 as a linebacker for the British Columbia Lions. He played three seasons with BC, making 20 sacks in 1993, before joining the Baltimore Stallions. In his second season in Baltimore, the team won the 1995 Grey Cup.

In 1996, Brigance was signed by the Miami Dolphins as a free agent. He was twice voted a team captain during his four seasons there and was the Ed Block Courage Award recipient in 1999. He was honored with the NFL Players Association’s “Unsung Hero Award” that same season.

Brigance’s lone season with Baltimore was 2000. He had a team-high 10 tackles on special teams during Baltimore’s playoff run, which ended with a 34-7 win over the New York Giants in the Super Bowl.

Brigance played for the St. Louis Rams in 2001 and 2002, and his final game was with New England in 2002.

“I am devastated and at a loss for words. O.J. was one of the most genuine, sincere people I have ever known,” Ravens executive vice president Ozzie Newsome said. “From the moment he arrived in Baltimore, you could feel his energy. His amazing smile, welcoming nature and infectious personality made everyone around him feel like family.”

And his tenacity would serve him well long after his playing days ended.

Cubs Shortstop Dansby Swanson To Miss About A Month With

The Cubs will be without shortstop Dansby Swanson for roughly a month.

Chicago placed the two-time All-Star on the 10-day injured list Monday with a left oblique strain he suffered during Sunday’s loss to St. Louis. Manager Craig Counsell said he expects Swanson to miss about four weeks.

Second baseman Nico Hoerner moved over to shortstop for Monday night’s game against the crosstown White Sox at Wrigley Field.

Swanson is hitting .216 with 18 homers and 66 RBIs in 119 games this season.

Cubs make several roster moves

Also Monday, Chicago placed right-hander Edward Cabrera on the 15-day injured list with a right middle finger blister. He made his first start since June 23 — he was sidelined with a hamstring injury — on Sunday but lasted just 3 2/3 innings and took the loss.

Right-hander Daniel Palencia, who has been out for more than two months with an elbow injury, was moved to the 60-day IL in a procedural move. He’s expected to rejoin the bullpen soon.

The Cubs recalled outfielder Kevin Alcantara and right-hander Javier Assad from Triple-A Iowa and purchased the contract of infielder Owen Miller from Iowa. Miller signed as a free agent during the offseason after playing last season with Colorado.

Diamondbacks Place Ketel Marte On Restricted List, Reportedly Set For

The Arizona Diamondbacks placed Ketel Marte on the restricted list on Monday night after the All-Star infielder failed to show up for the team’s game against the Boston Red Sox.

The Diamondbacks did not give a reason for the move. They delayed posting their starting lineup until about 15 minutes before first pitch. Arizona recalled infielder Jose Fernandez to fill Marte’s roster spot.

On Tuesday, it was reported that Marte is heading back to Phoenix for an MRI on his knee. Marte remains on the restricted list, though.

After the Diamondbacks’ loss on Monday night, Lovullo told reporters that Marte was dealing with a personal matter.

“That’s as much as I know right now,” Lovullo said, according to the Arizona Republic. “I’m sure in time we’ll start to uncover and unravel some information.”

Diamondbacks general manager Mike Hazen said, “It’s unfortunate he wasn’t there tonight. I’ll leave it at that.”

Entering play on Tuesday, the D-backs are one game behind the San Diego Padres for the third and final wild-card spot in the National League.

A three-time All-Star, Marte is hitting .249 with 21 homers and 67 RBI in 118 games this season. He went on the restricted list a year ago when he home was broken into during the All-Star break. Marte eventually apologized for missing three games after flying back to his home in the Dominican Republic.

The Arizona Republic reported on social media that Marte had arrived with the team to Boston, but didn’t arrive to the ballpark. It was also reported that the absence was not due to an injury.
